Half Dome is one of the most memorable hikes in Yosemite National Park, and it includes forest trails, scenic points for waterfall viewing, and then a climb of the cables. The majority of hikers go early in the day through the Mist Trail, where they see Vernal and Nevada Falls before arriving at the granite slopes of Sub Dome and then the cables.

A park permit is required for the final ascent, and the trail is long and challenging. It is only suitable for experienced and physically fit hikers. The peak offers excellent perspectives over the Yosemite Valley. This is surely a California classic.
