There's the breathtaking Tantalus Lookout atop a hill to the north of Honolulu in Oahu, Hawaii. This lookout point receives plenty of visitors in search of panoramic photographs of the cityscape, sunset, and rainbow moments. It is accessible via a drive to this site, which is contained within Puu Ualakaa State Wayside Park. Alternatively, you can visit family-friendly trails such as Ualakaʻa Trail.

There are picnic tables, restrooms, and signs with information about the history of the site, which once served as the first commercial macadamia nut farm in the state of Hawaii.

Sunsets in this spot give one the best display of the city of Honolulu and Diamond Head, but there’s also another spot to get the best display of the city lights once the park closes.

Tantalus Lookout is open and free, with plenty of parking available (though arriving early for sunset is advised). All seasons can be visited, during which rainbows can be observed due to light rain showers.
