Tegalalang Rice Terrace, also known as Ceking Rice Fields, is one of the most iconic attractions in Bali. The scenic rice fields and beautiful jungle that surround it make it a popular stop among tourists staying in Ubud.

Usually, visitors can spend a good hour admiring the viewpoints, taking a walk down into the fields, or simply getting a photo opportunity at the top. Although the spot has become more crowded and commercialized in recent years, it still boasts some of the best views in Bali, at its greenest during the harvest season.

Access from Ubud by scooter or private transport to Tegalalang is easy, with the rice fields open early in the morning. Some routes might also charge a toll or donations, especially for the farmers, so it’s wise to have some cash available. Tegalalang, despite its commercialization, should still be visited by new tourists who might see the traditional Bali rice fields for the first time.
