Broken Beach in Nusa Penida Island in the destination of Bali is a stunning natural bay that takes the form of a horseshoe. This semicircular form was created by the action of waves in ice ages that have passed.
Visitors can enjoy the scenic view of the cliffs, take pictures from above, and see boats and snorkelers in the bay. Though you cannot enter this beach, you can stand at a good angle from the cliffs surrounding this beach. This location is considered a gathering site for manta rays, hence ideal for nature admirers.
Broken Beach is easily accessible; it can be reached by car and scooter within 45 minutes to an hour when coming from the main docking and resort areas. The road going there is a bit bumpy, so it is best to drive slowly and safely. There is no fee for getting inside; only a small parking charge is imposed.
