To be found within Taiwan, the gorge is filled with towering marble cliffs, deep canyons, temples, and scenic viewpoints-a truly impressive landscape. Situated near Hualien, the Taroko Gorge National Park is relatively easy to tour along its trails and waterfalls, suspension bridges, and dramatic viewpoints, making it one of the island's most popular attractions.

Many tourists take a guided tour to Taroko from Hualien or Taipei, but by staying in Hualien, there can be at least a day's extra time to explore the park's trails, including Zhuilu Old Trail, Shakadang, and Swallow Grotto. The park is easily accessible by train or bus, with tours around for tourists who would like a hassle-free sightseeing experience. With beautiful shrines, turquoise rivers, and narrow gorge walls, Taroko Gorge is a must-stop on any Taiwan itinerary.
