It is a 16th-century sea temple located in the south of Bali, famous for the dramatic rock formation in the middle of the sea, with breathtaking sunsets. During high tide, this Hindu shrine seems to be floating on top of the water.
Visitors can explore the cliffside viewing areas, walk to where the temple is when it is low tide, view the mythical holy snake, and explore another nearby temple called Batu Bolong, situated on a natural rock bridge. There are also eateries in simpler restaurants to have dinner while witnessing the sunset in the Canggu or Ubud areas. Indeed, with its historical and beautiful appeal, it is not a surprise that Tanah Lot is still a must-see destination in Bali.
