The park, named after the Japanese city of Nara, is well-known for its friendly and partially wild deer. More than 1,000 deer roam the park, and those interested can purchase a kind of crackers called "shika senbei" in Japanese. The deer will bow and wait for their treat.

The park also has ancient treasures such as Todaiji Temple, a large and historic monument in Japan, Kofuku-ji Temple featuring a five-story pagoda, the Kasuga-Taisha Shrine, and the Nandaimon Gate.

Nara Park is very convenient to visit from Kyoto (30-60 minutes by train) or Osaka (45 minutes from Namba Station). The park and deer, and temples can also be explored on foot, and the park is beautiful throughout the year due to mild climate conditions.

Whether deer-feeding, temple-photography, or enjoying the fall foliage, Nara Park provides a distinct insight into the history and wildlife of Japan.
