Rammang Rammang. It is a stunning karst landscape found in South Sulawesi, and its features include limestone peaks, villages by rivers, and prehistoric caves. The region is a jewel in disguise, appearing like a Jurassic paradise, making it one of the least discovered places in Indonesia.
Only one hour from Makassar Airport, your trip will be easily accessible by tour, private driver, or taxi. For trekking and river boat viewing, you will walk through body-sized ponds and palm villages with picturesque cliffs. Tourist destinations are Berua Village, River Pute, Fireflies Cave, Prehistoric Hand and Finger Caves, and a natural stone forest.
Homestay options of the more basic sort exist in the village, whereas in Makassar, more comfortable hotel alternatives exist. The ideal time to visit would be during the dry season if one wants reflecting surfaces, cooler mornings, and more comfortable trekking. Rammang Rammang, as a tourist attraction, has not developed much yet, and thus, care to preserve the surroundings must be observed.
