The Dieng Plateau lies high in the mountains of Central Java and is one of the most distinctive natural attractions of Indonesia. This area of Dieng is famous for its golden sunrise vistas, sulfur lakes, hot craters, and ancient Hindu ruins scattered about the hills.
The most common way for tourists to visit Dieng is as part of a day trip tour from Yogjakarta. The journey involves many winding roads and can take quite a long but when you reach the top, you will get to enjoy scenic views. The tour involves sunrise views at Sikunir Hill and numerous other attractions such as Telaga Warna Lake.
It is a cool and serene region with very interesting scenery. It is quite a contrast from what one would find in lowland cities. It definitely doesn't take much effort to include the Dieng Plateau in one's Java tour.
